Upon recently taking inventory of my wardrobe to see what I need for this coming autumn, I noticed the only brown handbag I owned was a Louis Vuitton Speedy I find too big for everyday use and I thought it was time to change that. Variety is the spice of life, after all.
I was in no particular rush. The Louis Vuitton monogram backpack of my dreams is permanently unavailable and a quick browse of the Selfridges website didn’t produce any standout choices. However, a trip to my local Flannels (which is dangerously located just a 20-minute car journey from where I live and a five-minute walk from my favourite vegan café in the world) changed everything when I saw the most perfect bag sat on the bottom shelf of a fixture at the back of the store.
Introducing the Fendi Double F Mini Shoulder Bag, a playful alternative to the iconic Baguette and the latest addition to my handbag collection. Crafted from
Considering this is a ‘mini bag’ (a larger size is available), it’s surprisingly roomy, comfortably fitting an iPhone X, purse, makeup and keys. And, the sliding strap allows it to be worn either as a shoulder bag or across the body, adding to its versatility. In a dream world, I’d be able to shorten the chain further for a handheld option, but this wasn’t a big enough issue to prevent me from purchasing it.
I knew the second I saw it that this was the handbag I was looking for. Despite being bought primarily as a softer option to wear with summer dresses, the dark colouring makes it a bag that can be used throughout all seasons. And, the Lagerfeld designed double F motif is a classic that will undoubtedly stand the test of time. I won’t lie. Designer price tags can be pretty huge. But, when you think about how the piece will transcend through time, it can be considered an investment. I think this bag is a great one!
